August 10th We are sorry to announce that general cisis in Serbia and the Balkan region affected the final phase of preparation of the 5th Balkan Dance Platfrom (BDP 2009). Due to a limited production conditions we are not able to present all dance projects that have been selected by the selection committee. Yet, BDP 2009 will present the selection of the best contemporary dance productions made in previous two years in the Balkans. The programme will present the best achievements in artistic, conceptual and production senses and the specificities of artistic, cultural and material conditions and contexts of this moment. BDP 2009 will present both established authors and emerging artists with their latest productions which would make the programme of the 5th BDP diverse, informative and inspirational both for the local audience and artists and foreign guests. After discussing with the members of the selection committee, local artisitc boad and regional partners we decide that BDP 2009 will present only following 7 contemporary dance performances that were voted as the best by the members of the jury: Madalina Dan (Romania) / Dedublarea, BADco (Croatia) / 1 poor and one 0, Rosana Hribar & Gregor Luštek (Slovenia) / Dance me out, please!, Dragana Bulut, Gillie Kleiman, Lígia Soares (Serbia) / The Giant Women present The Greatest Show in Town, Griffon Dance Company (Greece) / Flesh , Kinesthetic project (Bulgaria) / Void, and Aleksandar Georgiev (Macedonia) / Heidi The rest of the pre-selected dance projects will be promoted through Balkan Dance Platform network and through distribution of BDP 09 promo package to more then 35 international curators, centers and festivals.
